Overview Oryon is an automation tool for Java UI applications (for example Syrius FX/Swing clients) that lets users record and replay interaction scenarios against fat-client applications. The generated scripts can be customised in Groovy to support more advanced automation needs, covering use cases that range from functional testing and load & performance testing to synthetic monitoring and robotic process automation (RPA).
The Oryon MCP Server exposes those capabilities to AI assistants and coding agents through the Model Context Protocol (MCP).

A short end-to-end walkthrough: let an AI agent explore a running Java application, rename a supplier record, check that the new name was really stored, and turn the result into an Oryon script.
The example uses the SwingSet demo, a data-bound Swing application that opens on a launcher, from which each example form can be reached. The first of them shows supplier records (a Supplier ID, a Name, a City and a Status), with a navigator to move from one record to the next.

Reference for all tools exposed by the Oryon MCP Server. For installation and client setup, see Setup.
The server runs in attach mode: the system under test (SUT) is the Java UI application, for example a Syrius FX/Swing client. It is started independently, with the Oryon agent listening on a known host and port, and the MCP server connects to it exactly as the Oryon IDE does.
Two conventions run through the whole tool set:
